Good Mornings Low Back - Jaime
From Blue Wave Martial Arts and Fitness, this is Jaime demonstrating Good Mornings. Good Mornings are great low back exercises that you can use a body bar for, or any weight that you have available. Jaime is going to start with a body bar behind her shoulders, in the same position that she would be if she were going to do a squat. With that weight in place she is going to bend at the waist, keeping that back flat. Good Mornings are a move that is similar to Straight Leg Dead Lifts, but in Good Mornings we are really thinking about trying to isolate the low back. We still want to keep that back flat, but if your knees bend just a little bit in this exercise, that's okay. As Jaime bends forward she is keeping that back in a great alignment; pushing her hips back and using her low back to lift back straight up again. Any back routine needs to have a low back exercise component, and Good Mornings are a great low back exercise to add to your routine.
