Proper Triceps Kickbacks - Maria
From Blue Wave Martial Arts and Fitness, Maria will be demonstrating proper triceps kickback technique. First Maria will get into position with one hand on the bench. The foot that's on the floor will match the arm that's in the air doing the work. To get in position she holds her elbow up above her back. From the beginning start position, she pushes her arm all the way out straight behind her, locking out fully each time. You'll notice when you do triceps kickbacks that the higher you have your elbow, the more effective you'll feel in the triceps and in the back of your shoulder. Quite often when people do triceps kickbacks they'll lower their elbow each time, which is incorrect technique and it doesn't really work your triceps as much as you would like. Hold your elbow up high above your back and hold that elbow still. Each time you push it out straight, keep that elbow in the same position.
