Description
Proper Concentration Curls - Maria
From Blue Wave Martial Arts and Fitness, this is Maria demonstrating Proper Concentration Curls. Concentration curls work the bicep in an isolated fashion, by placing the elbow just on the inside of the knee or the inner thigh. Maria has her arm completely perpendicular to the floor when she extends it straight up and down. She is also holding her knee and her shoulder perfectly still just working the bicep. Often in Concentration curls people will let their knee rock in and out, which does not let you isolate the bicep. You want to hold that knee perfectly still and we also want to hold the shoulder perfectly still. When you feel the weight is too heavy you will feel like rocking back and forth with that shoulder. Hold that shoulder rock steady, hold that leg rock steady, and just work the bicep straight down and all the way up. She's got her other hand on her leg out of the way and she can focus on just getting burn in that bicep.
